I love the colour of this gorgeous tunic/dress it is really vibrant and already today I have had 2 comments from people on how lovely it is. The belt that comes with it is true to size and pulls me in at exactly the right place.

I decided to wear a cardigan over mine as the pattern sits funny on my boobs …

It may just be me but I feel like the pattern starts going into points where my nipples might be sitting. Not that it really bothers me but it made me giggle so much that I decided that I’d break it up with a cardi!

The material of the top could be better, it’s pretty thin but it does have a really nice soft feel to it.

Swan Collection by Clements Ribeiro @Evansclothing

Like most of the plus sized fashion obsessed community I have been awaiting the release of the Swan range by Clements Ribeiro since the sneak preview pictures a couple of months ago.

I was not fortunate enough to be invited to the launch at Evans HQ, but I made sure that I had a prime spot on the website at 7am Saturday morning to get the key items that I had my eye on!

So, iPhone poised I browsed the collection. I knew that I definitely wanted the ‘Peggy’ Purple Pansy print dress so that was first in my basket and the first thing that I tried on when my collection arrived this afternoon.

What do you think?

I love the cut and the shape of this dress, it is very flattering and I am pleased to see that the larger bust has been catered for (this makes a change for Evans) although I will need to either wear a lower cut bra or a vest top underneath it.

The colour is really very unusual and is complemented perfectly by the brightly coloured Pansy’s. I have this dress earmarked to wear to my friends outdoor wedding in May as I think it will look fabulous against a springtime background for photos.

Next into my cart was the fabulous Heart Print ‘Betty’ Dress.

Now, I am not usually a fan of a high neckline on a dress, but this is cut so exquisitely that I really do love it. I adore the heart print design and have already decided on a gorgeous long heart necklace that I have made to accessorize it with!

I should say that both dresses sit just above my knee (I’m just over 5ft 6″) which is the perfect length for me, but you can’t really see that in the pictures. If you were any shorter than me then I think you would probably need to have them taken up a bit.

The final item added to my basket was the ‘Intarsia’ Black and Red Heart Cardigan.

Now, this is my favourite piece! I admit i’m a bit of a sucker for a cardi (What fat girl isn’t? Bingo wings anyone?!) but this is such a perfect fit and cut that I adore it.

In the picture I am wearing it over my black wrap work dress from Simply Be that I brought last season and I think that it finishes off the outfit perfectly. I ordered this in a size 26/28 as I like my cover up cardigans to be more fitted and I am delighted with my choice.

The only negative things that I have to say are;

There was a very beautiful black and gold dress in the promotional adverts for this range, to my disappointment this has not appeared on the website yet. I was hoping to have ordered it on Saturday but it was not available to buy

I cannot order any of the tops as they are all made in dual sizing. This frustrates the hell out of me.

 Evans promised the first 500 customers a ‘special treat’ with their order – However, despite ordering at 7:27am on Saturday morning, I did not receive any such treat.

Overall, I am ecstatic with the choices that I made on the website and think that the range has brought some much needed pizazz into the Evans range, which has been stagnant and boring for a good 6-8 months now.

Diamonds and Daggers

My shopping addiction has been going a little bit out of control these last few weeks.

When I was offered a discount on the wonderful Diamonds and Daggers website on Mothers Day, I couldn’t resist treating myself to some sparklies!

Diamonds and Daggers is run by a lovely lady called Hayley (@DiamondsDaggers on Twitter) who creates all of the designs by hand and is clearly as addicted to sparkly goodness as I am!

The latest additions to my Diamonds and Daggers collection are the gorgeous new ‘Wild Thing’ love shines necklaces. I couldn’t decide between the colours (gold and pink) so I brought one of each.

As always my package arrived beautifully wrapped and put together, I was also delighted to see that Hayley had gifted me a beautiful pair of her ‘Toadstool’ earrings that I simply adore!

 

I am addicted to the ‘love shines’ necklaces, I think that they add a touch of glamorous glitz to ANY outfit.

The care and attention to detail that goes into the designs is second to none and I have to take my hat off to Hayley for that – I wouldn’t have the patience to stick on that many crystals!

On Saturday night I went to see Pulp at the Royal Albert Hall and decided that this was the perfect occasion to take my pink ‘Wild Thing’ on her first outing. I teamed my necklace with my new Weird Fish tea dress, a Yours Clothing navy cardigan and purple pumps.

My Pretties …

Good Afternoon you gorgeous people!

Whilst sitting in the sunshine watching my Swarovski bracelets glistening in the sun I thought that I would take the opportunity to tell you about the new designs that I have added to my website!

The first collection is the beautiful antique inspired Rosebud collection.

I have used hand painted lampwork beads in white and antique rose, combined with Swarovski crystals, Sterling Silver and Rose Quartz to make some truly stunning designs.

The next collection is the ‘Wings’ collection, incorporating some beautiful butterfly, bird and feather designs.

I love butterflies so this collection may have been a bit more about my addiction to pretty flutterbyes and sparkles!

Finally I have added the Leather collection.

Leather bracelets in various colours adorned with stunning Swarovski elements, Sterling Silver, Freshwater Pearls and sparkles!

My Favourite Things …

Hi!

I’m Alyssa and this is my first ever blog.

I should probably warn you now that I can spend hours talking about myself, so over time this blog is likely to be very self-indulgent.

 I thought I’d kick it off by telling you about some of my favourite things …

Italy

I LOVE Italy.

I travel there at least once a year to indulge in the scenery … who am I kidding? I go there to eat decadent food, drink amazing wine, marvel at the fashion choices of the Italian women and perv at gorgeous (but short) Italian men.

Fancy Dress

I am ever so slightly obsessed with fancy dress. If I am given any opportunity to slather myself in face paint and look like an arse, then I’m going to go for it with gusto!

Food

I’m not a fatty that’s in denial, I am fat because I love food.

I am likely to revisit this obsession at a later date. I tend to eat out a lot and will want to tell you all about the fabulous meals I have!

Jewellery

I am addicted to accessories!

Once upon a time, not that long ago, as a big girl it was pretty much impossible to find gorgeous clothes. To compensate for a wardrobe of black shapeless clothing I accessorized to the MAX. Fortunately, times have changed and my wardrobe is now full to bursting, but my jewellery obsession remained.

Last year I took my obsession one step further and launched my own jewellery design company (www.arcobalenojewellerydesign.co.uk) and thought you might like to see some of my designs!

Obviously there are hundreds of other things that I love (fat fashion, makeup, stationery, shoes, chunky hairy men …) but I don’t want to waffle on forever the first time I meet you!
